All of the different authors would have different views and
mindsets on how the brain works. They may be able to come up with some
similarities but I think that mainly they would all have a different main idea.
The two people that I believe would have the most different mindsets would have
to be Jill Bolte Taylor and Noah Charney. Jill Taylor talks about her
experience with her stroke that she actually experienced and how she was able
to experience the difference between the two sides of her brain. She talks
about how she would go in and out of a state where she would feel like she was “connected
to everything”. She explains that she would not worry about anything and get a
feeling of euphoria while in this state. While Noah Charney just talks about abstract
art and the different effects it has on people. His input on how the brain
works is more focused on art and other people rather then himself. He does talk
about how his job allows him to look at abstract art in ways that relate to his
work but he is mainly focusing on the effect that abstract art has on others
and how we all perceive the world in a different way.
I agree with you because I also felt that those two authors had very different ideas. The other two authors ideas were not the same but similar. Noah Charney talks about the brain in regards to art, he never really put it into use for other real life situations. Jill Taylor talking about the brain physically but threw her mental trauma. If I was in the chat I would agree with the other two authors because I also feel that we must understand our emotions to use them positively. We need to trick our brain into thinking something else or feeling a different emotion.
